FoodBev Media
Graphic Designer
February 2016 - September 2018
Working on everything from designing the magazine layouts and preparing work for print to organising the advertisers and fulfilling all necessary production tasks. With the changing world we are seeing a boom in online demand and because of this I also help transform our print magazine to be a digital publication adding extra video and animated content. As for any publishing company, it is important that everything we create meets brand guidelines be it within the magazine, online or for our in-house marketing and to do this I have worked closely with the marketing, sales, and editorial teams. Another large part of my job has been creating and organising newsletters from in house daily catch-ups to featured newsletters, this has sparked my interest in web design which I am now looking to develop in my free time.
Colorfoto
Graphic Designer
Photographer
October 2013 - February 2016
Invited back to join the Colorfoto team, I split my time between being a school photographer and a graphic designer. As a designer, I would create all the in house marketing material for the sales teams to take to hundreds of schools as well as creating the actual products for schools, anything from prospectus folders to large wall art installations. Responsible for a large share of the tickets I would complete my own tasks from concept to finish using the large digital presses. As everything had to fit around the school day I become very adapt to working to tight deadlines and also changing my design style to suit the different school ages. As a photographer I would go into schools as an individual or as part of a small team to take portrait and class photos, this taught me the importance of a positive outlook and friendly personality.

As the sole designer of this fast-paced clothing printing company, I was in charge of creating custom designs, consulting with clients, offering mock-up prints, ordering stock and then pressing the final design. I would manage the machines and would work to very tight deadlines on some very large orders.

This was a three-month graduate program where I adapted my university skills into practical working skills. I developed my Adobe creative suite knowledge by creating school marketing designs from concept to finish and learned to use the Xerox digital press and production machinery.

I spend a portion of my free time freelancing, it is an interesting way to keep my skills fresh and introduce new challenges. These freelance projects range from photo restoration to web design. I have designed a wrestling book full of old interviews from a retired website into one fully printed production and completed a full brand design for an E-mail subscription-based flight deals startup website and then refreshed their look one year later, introducing graphics for social media channels.
